Naughty List Report
Are you using the Image Retouch Selection or Limited Downloads features in Headshot Tools and need participants to finish their retouch selections or download choices? The Naughty List Report is the perfect tool to see who still needs to take action and much more! While our normal Retouch Selection Best Practices generally alleviate the need for this report, you’ll sometimes still have some stragglers that need an extra push, and this report can help!
How To Access The Naughty List Report
To view the Naughty List report:- Navigate to your job.
- Click the three vertical dots icon in the “Shoots” panel.
- Click “Reporting”.
- Click on the report titled 'The "Naughty List"'.
How The Naughty List Report Works
This Naughty List is compatible with both the Headshot Tools Image Retouch Selection and Limited Downloads modes. The report will display differently depending on the mode that is currently configured for your job.Participants will only show up on the naughty list if they meet all three of the following criteria:
-
They have been emailed a link to their gallery –
This ensures only participants you contacted show up on the list. -
Their gallery contains at least one image –
Similar to the prior item, if there are no images for this participant to act on, there’s nothing naughty about them and nothing for them to do! -
They have not made the required number of selections/choices –
This is the core of the report. Participants who haven’t performed the number of needed actions are the offending participants who need completion.
Clicking the participant’s name will take you to this participant’s shoot detail page. You can also click directly to this participant’s gallery by utilizing the Gallery column link. Please Note: visiting a participant’s gallery will flag their gallery as viewed.
The report will also contain the number of selections/choices the participant has made so far and the required number they’re needed to make. These numbers will account for shoot overrides when applied.
Please note, we recommend always reviewing your Job Inspector at the completion of shooting a job. This will help in finding any mistakes before you review your selection progress.
When To Use The Naughty List
There are many uses for the Naughty List report. Here are just a few example ways you can utilize this report to speed up your jobs:Monitor Progress –
Is your client asking you for updates or you just want to know how things are going? Load up the report and check the progress bar for some instant quantifiable feedback! After a few jobs and following our Retouch Selection Best Practices, you’ll have a better idea of what normal and abnormal progress looks like for your types of jobs.
Completion Assistance –
You might have a few participants, who despite reminding and sending emails, still haven’t made their selections. Use the “Download” feature of the Naughty List to pull down a CSV file of the naughty participants and send it to your company point of contact. They can either get in touch with the offending participants or by using the included URL within the download, make selections for them! For the best customer service, we recommend attempting to get these participants to perform their actions on your own before utilizing this approach.
Completing For Participants –
Our recommended approach for retouch selection is to always have a deadline. If participants haven’t made selections by the deadline, you may have to make selections for them. Load up the naughty list report and utilize the clickable Gallery link to work your way through the stragglers and choose for them. After a refresh to the naughty list, you’ll see that your now completed selections removed these naughty participants from the report and you’re ready to start your retouching workflow!

Common Issues / Questions
I have a participant who should be on the list!
See the “How The Naughty List Report Works” section above to learn the 3 pieces of criteria that will get a participant on the naughty list. It’s likely that you didn’t email this participant and that’s why they haven’t made selections and they aren’t in the list. We always recommend reviewing your Job Inspector after a job to look for any mistakes. Then you can continue with the Naughty List as the participant selections progress. The naughty list doesn’t show anyone!
For the Naughty List report to work properly, you must have Image Retouch Selection or Limited Downloads enabled. If either of these options are deactivated, participants won’t be able to make retouching selections or download choices. This helps to prevent asking participants to perform an action they won’t be able to complete.
