Practice Help
Practicing With Headshot Tools
We highly recommend you practice using Headshot Tools before jumping into a job with a client. This makes the learning process even easier and protects your client from having a bad experience.
Prerequisites
Before you start this guide, make sure you have both of the following complete:
Have Your Tethering Software Configured
Have A Test Job Setup In Headshot Tools
Practice Steps
The steps to shoot a single participant are simple and the same each time regardless of the type of job you're shooting. Please follow the below steps in this order:- Double-Click - Ask your participant for their name. Confirm their name in the Dashboard and double-click on their name.
- Shoot - Switch over to your tethering software and snap a few images. You'll know you did both steps correctly if you see images in your tethering software file-named for the current participant.
- Export - Select the images you want to export for this participant and export these images. This allows you to quickly cull out blinks or any flash misfires. You're only required to do this step now if you're delivering these photos instantly. Otherwise, you can do it after the job.
- Repeat - That's it! This participant is complete! You can now go back to the first step and start the same process for the next participant!
Common Issues
My files are not being named correctly for my participant
This almost always means that a step wasn't followed correctly in our tethering setup videos. Please go back to the tethering setup videos and look for any setting mismatches.I'm not seeing my files show up in Headshot Tools
Make sure you have your Auto Upload Utility running and you've left the tab open. See more on uploading here.I forgot to double-click on a participant. How can I fix this?
See our guide on how to fix forgetting to double-click.
