Buy All Help
How "Buy All" Purchases Work
In addition to selling individual image retouching -or- individual downloads within your job, you can optionally offer bulk purchases of all retouched images -or- all instant downloads. These options are great for participants who can’t decide on individual images or need them all. Perfect for increasing your post-shooting income! When enabled, participants are given access to a "Buy All" button within their individual galleries. Clicking this button will add the configured "Buy All" purchase option to their cart and bring them to their cart's check out page automatically!
Common Configurations
While the quantities and prices below can be changed to any values you like, here are a few common setup examples:Retouching Purchases

Cart Directions
When “Buy All” purchases are enabled, the Headshot Tools shopping cart will automatically provide additional tips to participants to ensure they always receive the best price. These cart directions will not only inform participants of the best deal, they will also ensure that customers can’t make a silly choice. This prevents you from issuing refunds and customer service headaches later on! Here’s one example of how it can work:
Participant Sam receives their gallery with 20 images within it and sees they can buy images individually for $30 a piece or all images in bulk for $100. They add 5 images individually to their cart and go to check out.
-The five images in their cart at $30 a piece would be a $150 total.
-All 20 images in the gallery would be a $100 total via the “Buy All” option they skipped.
It’s safe to say that 5 images for $150 is a bad choice when they could get the whole gallery of 20 images for $100. In this situation Headshot Tools will inform the participant of the better deal and ensure they switch to the “Buy All” option before they check out.

The system knows all the different ways a purchase can go and will always make sure that your customer is getting the most for the best price. You’ll never receive an angry email from a customer who didn't take advantage of the appropriate options!
Auto Price Lowering
The Headshot Tools “Buy All” options will reduce participant’s “Buy All” pricing for you automatically in the event that they’ve already made individual image purchases. Perfect for removing customer service events and upset participants! Here’s how it works:
Participant Sally receives their gallery and sees they can buy images individually for $30 a piece or all images in bulk for $100. At that time, they decide buying two images is all they really want. They check out paying $60 total and all is good!
A week goes by and suddenly they realize they actually need -all- of their images!
Participants in this situation typically reach out to you for a refund or price adjustment causing you to do some customer service and potentially lose some income on transaction fee returns. Certainly not a lot of fun and something that can scale largely on jobs with many participants.
However, with Headshot Tools auto price lowering, the system will automatically reduce this participant’s “Buy All” price from $100 to $40 because they’ve already spent $60 towards their gallery. The participant can then check out receiving their remaining images without any customer service intervention from you!

You always want to set your “Buy All” price as the maximum amount you find acceptable to receive for all the photos in the gallery retouched or downloaded. The system will ensure that however your participant buys, the system always collects that much and gets them the appropriate images.
Please Note: If you enable “Buy All” purchases on a job that previously did not have it enabled, and participants have already purchased images individually for more than the newly enabled “Buy All” price, the “Buy All” price will automatically be reduced to the minimum transaction value. This is typically $0.50 USD, or approximately $1.00 USD equivalent in non-USD currencies.
Why Do Cart Directions and Auto Price Lowering Exist?
Headshot Tools is typically deployed for team and event headshot jobs where hundreds or even thousands of participants may be photographed. With small headshot sessions, it’s easy to provide individual attention, make adjustments and offer email assistance. However, as the number of participants grows, having smart, scalable tools in place becomes increasingly important to reduce individual issues!Cart Directions and Auto Price Lowering are part of Headshot Tools broader approach to creating smart, scalable, and streamlined experiences for both participants and photographers.
Best Practices
When enabling a “Buy All” option for your job, there are a few best practices that can greatly improve your job’s performance, customer service and participant perception. None of these best practices are required but they can greatly optimize your job!Image Count – When photographing an individual, it’s always best to ensure that you export and upload enough images for them to consider the “Buy All” option. For example, if you had an individual purchase price of $30 and a “Buy All” purchase price of $100, it would be best to upload at the very least 4 or more images. The main goal here is providing enough images such that the total per-image price exceeds your configured “Buy All” price. Otherwise, the “Buy All” option won’t be usable since individual image pricing would always be a better deal.
Image Count Consistency – Keeping a generally consistent number of images delivered to each participant within the job can prevent upset participants. For example, if one participant receives 8 images and one participant receives 30, you might find a participant is upset that they didn't receive as many images as their co-worker. While this is a system-wide general best practice, enabling “Buy All” purchases can increase participant sensitivity to inconsistent image counts.
Pricing Multiples – When setting your prices for individual and “Buy All” purchases, it’s best to keep your individual price a reasonable multiple from your “Buy All” price. For example:
- Good: $30.00 Individual - $100.00 Buy All (3.3X Multiple)
- Bad: $2.00 Individual - $100.00 Buy All (50X Multiple)
Avoid Whole Number Multiples – When setting your prices for individual and “Buy All” purchases, it’s recommended to avoid whole number multiples.
- Good: $30.00 Individual - $100.00 Buy All (3.3X Multiple)
- Bad: $20.00 Individual - $80.00 Buy All (4X Multiple)
Price Retroactive Retouching Buy All Accordingly – You may have jobs that you shot before this “Buy All” feature existed or jobs where you didn't turn on “Buy All Retouching” initially. It can be counterproductive to enable “Buy All Retouching” on past retouching jobs. For example, if a participant purchased $120 of retouching individually prior, and you set your “Buy All Retouching” price at $100 now. Due to Auto Price Lowering, you might end up performing retouching on the entire gallery for the minimum transaction price.
If you do wish to turn on “Buy All Retouching” for a job that contains past retouching purchases, it’s best to ensure your “Buy All Retouching” price is high enough to cover the potential work you may have to do when someone purchases.
