Image Security Watermarks

Headshot Tools has built-in, automatically morphing, AI-Resistant watermarks to provide protection for your images. These watermarks are not meant to prevent removal by professional Photoshop artists, but are designed to provide an effective deterrent against AI watermark removal utilities while still allowing unobstructed viewing of the original image.

To enable or disable this feature:

1. Navigate to the job you want to modify.
2. Click the three vertical dots icon in the “Job” panel.
3. Click  “Edit Job”.
4. Select the “Image Downloads” option you prefer.
5. Select the “Image Security Watermarks” option you prefer.
6. Click “Edit Job” at the bottom of the form to save your settings.

After changing your watermarking setting or image downloads setting, Headshot Tools may reprocess your galleries. This process can take a few moments, especially when there are a very large number of images within your gallery. It’s recommended that you apply this setting when first adding your job. This way as you shoot, images will be watermarked on the fly!

How Image Security Watermarks Work

We can’t provide too many details about the inner workings of the watermark but they work by rendering a uniquely generated watermark on each image you provide to Headshot Tools. These watermarks are different across images and provide protection from even the most advanced AI watermark training and removal algorithms.

It is possible that over time, AI may become more trained on our watermarks but we have taken measures that will help prevent this as AI evolves. You may see the watermark appear slightly different over time.

How Does Downloading / Removal Work?

If a watermarked image becomes available for download via one of our Image Download Modes, your participants will always download the unwatermarked version. Participants will never download an image with our image security watermark applied to it.

Best Practices

While extremely safe to use, there are a few best practices to follow when using Image Security Watermarks:

• Applying the Image Security Watermark setting when adding a job will give you the fastest and most secure use of watermarks. This allows you to avoid any reprocessing later or situations where you are exposing unwatermarked images to participants.
• When you change or modify a job’s Image Downloads setting or Image Security Watermark setting, you may see your job start reprocessing images. We recommend waiting for this processing to complete before uploading any new images or performing any other operations on your job.
  
  If you miss these instructions, it is possible that you end up with some images in your job watermarked and some not. To fix this, stop any operation on your job (uploading or modifications), edit your job to the opposite watermarking setting you want and save your change. Wait for reprocessing to complete, then edit your job back to the watermarking setting you desire. This will reprocess your job entirely and get everything back in sync.

Common Issues / Questions

• Can I use my own watermark instead?

  At this time Headshot Tools only has the ability to apply our Image Security Watermark. You can request this feature to be built by emailing Support@HeadshotTools.com

• Can I customize the AI-resistant watermark?

  The AI resistant watermark's appearance is not customizable other than being turned on or off. To ensure the resistance of the watermark, Headshot Tools needs to control all settings around it.
