Capture One To Lightroom Help

Capture One To Adobe Lightroom Workflow

Do you tether using Capture One but are more familiar with Adobe Lightroom for all your editing and retouching? No problem! Follow the 3 simple steps below to move your Capture One images into Lightroom!

  • Step 1 - Open your Capture One session where your current images reside.
  • Step 2 - Open a new or existing Adobe Lightroom Catalog.
  • Step 3 - In Capture One, select any images you want to move, then click and drag them into Adobe Lightroom’s Library module.

IMPORTANT: Please ensure that "Add" is selected at the top of the Lightroom import screen before continuing!

Now click “Import” at the bottom right of the screen.

That’s it! With the above steps complete, you can now perform your retouching or editing exactly as you’re used to. The best part is Adobe Lightroom will retain these images' file names and simply link them into your catalog. You are not making a copy of these files.

Alternatively, you can also import these images directly from your Capture One session’s “Capture” Folder if you are not comfortable clicking and dragging.

Once your editing is completed in Lightroom, you can export and upload to Headshot Tools. You do not need to import these images back into Capture One.

How Do I Edit Only The “Hearted” Images Selected In Headshot Tools?

To isolate the images you need to edit, you utilize the Headshot Tools Retouch Export List. You can see exact instructions for how this works in our Retouching Workflow page/video.

When you get to the step for loading your retouching selections, you’ll first perform the above steps for getting your images from Capture One into Adobe Lightroom, then you can continue the standard retouching workflow steps!
